Kansas City is my home, and my heart is with its nonprofit community

I have lived in Kansas City all of my life, and my care for this community and its causes is core to what I do. My professional experience includes full-time work with faith-based organizations, national organizational headquarters, local affiliates of national organizations, community mobilizers, faith communities, and local organizations varying in scope and focus. This diversity of experience enables me to understand the unique challenges of various nonprofit organizations and their constituencies.
As a previous full-time staff member in marketing and communications at organizations such as The Don Bosco Centers, Connection Point Church, the United Way of Wyandotte County, and Camp Fire National, I gained a wide range of skills in the areas of fundraising, crisis communications, donor relations, press relations, grantwriting, website and e-communication development, and more. This experience translates into a successful consulting business that allows me to better balance my professional career with raising a family. In addition, a strong educational foundation lies beneath the practical work experience that makes me a strong asset to any organization.
I have been serving as a marketing and design consultant in some form since 2003, and have made it my sole side hustle since the birth of the first of our three kids in 2009. When I am not providing great service to my clients, I can be found running kids to thirty-thousand different extracurricular activities, volunteering at our local school and church, planning our next family vacation, testing out the latest board game in our collection, pretending that I am good at kayaking and fishing, or continuing my life-long quest to find the perfect spinach artichoke dip.
